Mobile inspections help Autoport keep 'em rolling

Tablet PC solution automates automobile inspections for Autoport

Wilmington, Del. – AutoPort, Inc. provides automotive manufacturers and dealers with a range of services for vehicle modification, processing, shipping and logistics. Vehicle inspections are a key part of AutoPort's processing to make sure that a wide range of vehicle information is accurately captured, tracked and managed. Make, model, VIN numbers and vehicle condition information such as chipped paint, scratches, and loose or missing body components are all tracked.

AutoPort currently uses paper forms to capture this information which is subsequently entered in to a computer system. This manual data entry process creates work flow bottlenecks and data integrity issues given the volume of vehicles and information being processed.

AutoPort selected Diamond Technologies to provide a computerized solution to this paper-based manual process. Diamond will be helping Autoport develop and implement a new solution based on tablet PCs which will automatically upload the data into AutoPort's back-end systems.
