Delaware's Office of Occupational and Labor Market Information (OOLMI) is responsible for the collection and publication of this essential information.

The Business Need

The collection, compilation and publishing of a vast amount of labor market information is a daunting task. In addition to the fact that there is an enormous amount of data to be collected from a wide variety of sources, the data changes frequently and often is received in a variety of formats. OOLMI was faced with two challenges: publishing this complex information to its website in a more timely fashion, and increasing the efficiency of the process to ensure that accurate, high quality information is consistently presented.

The Solution

The Department of Labor engaged Diamond to implement a redesigned website for its OOLMI division, including an innovative solution for the automation of website content management and publishing. The technology behind the new web site automates the process for getting information out of Microsoft Office Word and Excel files and onto the web. Diamond Technologies created standardized formats for dozens of tables, making it easy for specialists at the department to update tables online as soon as the information is available.
